Lead Screw Linear Actuators are a type of general-purpose automation equipment that converts rotational motion into linear motion through the engagement transmission of a screw and nut. With its simple structure, controllable cost, and strong adaptability, it is widely used in industrial, medical, home and other fields.

 

Lead Screw Linear Actuators consist of a drive motor, a screw (usually a trapezoidal screw or ACME screw), a nut, a guide device, and a housing. When working, the motor drives the screw to rotate, and the nut is constrained by the guide and cannot rotate with the screw, so it moves linearly along the axis of the screw to achieve the pushing, pulling or lifting action of the load. Compared with ball screw, ordinary screw is transmitted through sliding friction, which has lower efficiency (usually 30% -50%), but has natural self-locking properties. After power failure, it can stably maintain the load position without the need for additional braking devices, and has better safety.

 

The advantages of Lead Screw Linear Actuators are significant. In terms of cost, the trapezoidal screw machining process is simple and does not require a precise ball circulation structure. The manufacturing cost is only 30% -60% of that of ball screw actuators, making it suitable for budget limited scenarios. The load capacity covers a wide range, with small actuators capable of driving several kilograms of load, while large equipment can withstand several tons of weight, meeting diverse needs from light load pushing to heavy lifting. In addition, its structure is compact, can be integrated into small spaces, and is easy to maintain, ensuring long-term operation through regular lubrication.
