Dust Proof Linear Module is a linear motion device designed for environments with solid particles such as dust and debris. Through structural optimization and sealing design, it prevents dust from entering internal transmission components. The protection level of Dust Proof Linear Module usually reaches IP54 or above (IP5X stands for preventing dust from entering and affecting equipment operation, IPX4 stands for splash proof). It can maintain stable linear motion accuracy and service life in dusty conditions, and is suitable for scenarios that are sensitive to dust but have low waterproof requirements.

 

Working principle of Dust Proof Linear Module

The core is the dust-proof mechanism of "physical barrier+self-cleaning assistance": the motor-driven transmission mechanism (ball screw, synchronous belt or trapezoidal screw) converts rotational motion into linear motion, driving the load to move along the guide rail. Dustproof design is achieved through multiple barriers:

1. Sealing protection: The gap between the guide rail and the slider adopts elastic dust-proof lips (such as polyurethane material), which tightly adhere to the surface of the guide rail to prevent large particles of dust from entering;

2. Isolation cover: Transmission components (such as lead screws) are wrapped with a retractable dust cover (made of metal or canvas material), which expands and contracts synchronously with the movement of the slider, forming a closed space;

3. Structural optimization: The shell joints adopt a maze design to extend the path of dust intrusion, while utilizing the airflow generated by movement to blow surface dust away from key areas.

 

Structural composition of Dust Proof Linear Module

Transmission unit: Choose ball screw (high-precision) or synchronous belt (high-speed) according to accuracy requirements, and the surface of the screw should be chrome plated to reduce dust adhesion;

Guidance system: mainly using linear guide rails, equipped with dust-proof scraper at the end of the slider (scraping off dust attached to the surface of the guide rail);

Dust prevention components: including telescopic dust cover, shaft end dust cover, slider dust lip, some models have dust exhaust holes at the bottom of the shell (to discharge a small amount of invading fine dust);

Drive module: Equipped with ordinary or dust-proof motors, dust-proof sealing rings are installed at the connection between the motor and the module to prevent dust from infiltrating from the shaft end.
