RV Gear Reducer is a two-stage reduction mechanism that combines planetary gear transmission with cycloidal pinwheel transmission. Its core function is to significantly reduce speed while significantly increasing torque and maintaining extremely high transmission accuracy. Compared with ordinary reducers, RV Gear Reducer's key advantage lies in dispersing loads through multi tooth meshing, which can maintain extremely small transmission errors even at large reduction ratios (usually 10-100:1) (return errors are usually less than 1 arcminute, and high-precision models can reach 15-30 arcseconds).

 

The structure of RV Gear Reducer is compact but precise and complex, mainly composed of input part, reduction transmission part, and output part, which work together through gear meshing:

Input section

Primary reduction of planetary gears

The input section includes the input shaft, sun gear, and planetary gears. The power of the motor is transmitted to the sun gear through the input shaft, and the sun gear meshes with multiple planetary gears, driving the planetary gears to revolve around the sun gear while rotating on their own, completing a first stage reduction. This step initially reduces the speed and increases the torque, providing stable input for subsequent transmission.

Cycloid pinwheel two-stage reduction

The deceleration transmission part is the "soul" of the RV gear reducer, consisting of an eccentric shaft, a cycloid wheel, and a needle wheel:

-The rotation of planetary gears is transmitted to cycloid gears through eccentric shafts, and each eccentric shaft drives two cycloid gears with a phase difference of 180 ° to perform eccentric motion (symmetrical design can counteract centrifugal force and ensure smoothness).

-The tooth profile of the cycloid wheel is a special cycloid curve, which forms a multi tooth meshing with the needle wheel (uniformly distributed needle teeth) fixed on the shell - the number of teeth meshing simultaneously during motion can reach more than 2/3 of the total number of teeth. This design is the key to its high rigidity and load resistance.

Output section

Power conversion and output

The eccentric motion of the cycloidal gear is converted into the rotational motion of the output flange through the bearings on the crankshaft, and ultimately transmits the power that has undergone two-stage deceleration to the load end. Throughout the process, power is transmitted layer by layer through gear meshing, achieving a large reduction ratio while ensuring smooth operation through structural optimization.
