Belt Actuator is a precision linear motion device that uses synchronous belt transmission technology to convert rotational motion into linear motion through precise engagement between the synchronous belt and pulley. This type of actuator has become an indispensable key component in the field of modern automation due to its unique high-speed performance, long stroke capability, and cost-effectiveness.

 

Belt Actuator consists of a synchronous belt, a driving wheel, a driven wheel, a tensioning device, and a guide rail system. Synchronous belts are usually made of high-strength polyurethane materials, with steel wires or Kevlar fiber reinforcement layers embedded inside to ensure high strength and low elongation during the transmission process. The motor drives the driving wheel to rotate, and drives the synchronous belt to move through tooth meshing, thereby pushing the slider installed on the belt to make precise linear motion along the guide rail.

 

Belt Actuator have many advantages. It can achieve high operating speeds, with some models exceeding 5 meters per second, making it suitable for situations with high speed requirements. At the same time, it can also provide longer travel distances, which can meet the needs of some applications that require larger travel distances. In addition, the structure of the belt driven actuator is relatively simple, the cost is low, and maintenance is also relatively convenient. Compared with gear rack drive, it has lower inertia and stronger anti pollution ability.

 

However, Belt Actuator also has certain limitations. For example, its positioning accuracy is usually not as high as that of screw driven actuators, and it is generally suitable for scenarios where accuracy requirements are not extremely strict. Moreover, the belt may experience stretching after prolonged use, and it is necessary to regularly adjust the tension to ensure its performance.
